Chinese panel manufacturer HKC has introduced the world’s first 800 Hz refresh rate gaming monitor. The monitor comes with a 24.5-inch Full HD resolution screen. The device, which uses the company’s own FSA VA panel, features a high-frequency driver technology called a-Si HyperSilicon.

Another striking feature of the panel is that it is supported by a 1152-zone Mini LED backlight and cadmium-free QDEF quantum dot film. This combination provides motion clarity without compromising color performance despite the high refresh rate.

The refresh rate of the new model varies between 48 Hz and 800 Hz. This range allows displays that support variable refresh rate (VRR) to present images with minimal tearing and delay in different scenes.
The screen, which has a response time of 0.5 milliseconds (GtG), reaches 1200 nits peak brightness and a contrast ratio of 4000:1. The monitor also has 95% DCI-P3 and 99% Adobe RGB color coverage, and is calibrated to stay below ∆E 1.5. It offers a wide color range with native 10-bit color depth and support for up to 12-bit processing.
The monitor carries VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification to support HDR content. Adaptive refresh rate support is provided by both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. The device also features a dynamic power saving system to reduce energy consumption when still images are displayed.
HKC describes this monitor as a professional-level e-sports tool for use in fast-paced competitive games, especially titles like Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant. Unlike the 750Hz Koorui G7 prototype that was showcased at CES in January 2025 and used a TN panel, this model uses a VA panel to offer higher contrast and wider color coverage.
