On the occasion of China’s October 1st National Day, a massive light show consisting of 10,197 drones was organized in Shenzhen, setting a new world record. The state-of-the-art show illuminated the sky and demonstrated once again how far technology has come in the world of entertainment.
New world record: 10,197 drones put on a breathtaking show
Shenzhen is known as the technology center of China and is at the forefront of drone production. The city, which is home to major drone manufacturers such as DJI, has been the scene of such demonstrations before. This time, however, it surpassed the record of 7,598 drones set a month ago and raised the bar even higher.
The show took place over Shenzhen Bay Park. Motion graphics, rainbow-colored birds soaring in the sky, lightning flashes and huge 3D shapes gave the audience unforgettable moments. In particular, a 3D model of the city of Shenzhen attracted great attention. Drones were used just like a screen, creating the effect of movement with light plays.
As the country that invented fireworks nearly 1,200 years ago, China continues to be a leader in drone technology. Meanwhile, drones are not only used for entertainment, but also in modern warfare and mosquito control. It seems that these shows will continue to evolve as a major technology that entertains the masses in the future.
