Meta has accelerated its efforts to reach more users after Threads, which lost its popularity shortly after its release, with the aim of reaching more users. Threads, which recently announced the Fediverse (Unified Universe) technology, has now activated the live score feature for sports matches. Here are the details…
Threads to Display Live Scores for Sports Matches
Meta’s microblogging platform Threads made headlines this week with a new update. As announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the Threads app will now display live scores.
In his post on X (Twitter), Zuckerberg stated, “Live scores are coming to Threads. @NBA is leading the way, and we’ll soon add other leagues too.” The company announced that Basketball has become one of the most popular topics on Threads. Additionally, NBA Threads is described as the most active sports community within the app.
A company spokesperson stated that the scores feature is now being offered to users as part of a test. The aim is to make Threads a better place for users to discuss sports and their favorite teams.
Sports scores can be found in Topic Search before, during, or after the match. Meta emphasized that Threads will show scores for more leagues in the future.
Here’s how the live scores feature works:
- Pre-game: You’ll be able to search for a game within a day after seeing the start time of the game.
- During the game: You can search to see the current score while the game is ongoing.
- Post-game: You’ll be able to search within a day after the end of the game to see the final score.
- Anytime: By tapping on the logo of a team, you’ll be directed to the chat about that team and can connect with others following them.
