The company clearly states that any content generated by artificial intelligence needs to be labeled. Thanks to the new labeling feature, users will be able to determine whether the created content is fake or not.

On TikTok’s video upload screen, there is an option for content generated by artificial intelligence under “more options.” TikTok indicates that the label will help prevent “content removal” and that the platform can remove untagged content for violating community guidelines.
In 2020, TikTok banned deepfake videos with the updated community rules. The company defines deepfake videos as “Digital Deceptions (Synthetic Media or Manipulated Media)” that distort the reality of events, misleading users, and causing significant harm to the subject of the video, other individuals, or the community.
Last week, it was reported that Instagram is working on similar labels for content generated by AI. The new feature, which has not yet been launched, will serve a similar purpose as the tab within TikTok.
