Microsoft is updating its panel with a new small widget to provide Windows 11 users with a more productive experience and help with time management. This time, the timer and countdown features are being tested in the preview version of Windows 11. Although it may seem like a small update, these features will make time management easier for many of us in our daily lives.
Timer and countdown widgets are coming to Windows 11
The first of the new widgets, the timer, allows users to create multiple timers and pin them to the widgets panel of Windows 11. For example, you can use this feature to set different durations while cooking, working, or exercising.
Timers pinned to the widget panel will allow the user to quickly check these timers and easily switch from one task to another. Moreover, you are not limited to just one timer; you can manage multiple timers at the same time and easily change each one.
Another new widget is the countdown. This feature is important for keeping track of how much time is left for an upcoming important event or project. With the countdown widget, you can check the remaining time for holidays, birthdays, work deadlines or a big event on your screen.
Microsoft’s new widgets are currently available to Windows Insider users and continue to be developed based on feedback. Small but effective widgets like these can make everyday use of Windows 11 more practical.
