Toyota Price Hike Statement and Details
Toyota Turkey CEO Ali Haydar Bozkurt commented on the additional tax decision for vehicles imported from countries outside the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in an interview with CNBC-E. Therefore, internal combustion and hybrid vehicles, specifically imported from Japan, will be subject to a 25 percent additional tax, while electric and plug-in hybrids will be subject to a 30 percent additional tax.

Bozkurt emphasized that these additional taxes will directly impact prices. According to the CEO, prices of some Toyota models imported from Japan are expected to increase by 30 to 35 percent. Furthermore, this regulation will take effect on November 22, 2025.
Ali Haydar Bozkurt stated that despite the price increases, their strategy remains consistent. “We’re trying to force the continuation of these models, even if it’s at a loss,” Bozkurt said, adding that they’ve requested support from manufacturers and aim to keep as many models on sale as possible.
