Tripy Mobility Partners with CalmCar to Launch Robotaxi Era

MIA Technology and Tripy Mobility partner with CalmCar to bring L4 autonomous robotaxi services to Turkey and international markets through a new strategic agreement.

MIA Technology has officially announced a strategic partnership between its subsidiary, Tripy Mobility, and the China-based autonomous driving leader, CalmCar. The agreement, finalized in Tianjin, China, aims to commercialize advanced robotaxi services powered by artificial intelligence across Turkey and various international markets. By integrating CalmCar’s level-4 autonomous driving technology with the SAIC Motor MIFA 7 electric vehicle platform, the companies seek to transform urban transport. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in bringing high-level autonomous mobility solutions to the Turkish market, with Tripy Mobility spearheading the local technical adaptation, operational management, and regulatory compliance efforts required to deploy these next-generation vehicles on public roads.

    • Tripy Mobility will integrate CalmCar’s L4 autonomous driving systems into SAIC Motor’s electric vehicle platform for regional deployment.
    • The robotaxi platform has successfully completed over 100,000 hours of real-world road testing and 3.8 million hours of engineering development.
    • Tripy Mobility will manage local operational infrastructure, including fleet management, remote monitoring, and call center systems for commercial services.

    Autonomous Systems Target Commercial Readiness

The core of this project rests on the sophisticated technology developed by CalmCar, which is already utilized by global automotive giants such as Volkswagen and Polestar. The system leverages high-performance hardware from Nvidia and Horizon Robotics to ensure safety and precision.

The integration of AI-based decision systems and multi-layered security architectures provides the foundation for safe, driverless public transportation.

Tripy Mobility is currently focused on the localization of these systems for the Turkish environment. This involves mapping complex urban infrastructures and ensuring the technology meets local safety standards. The company will oversee the entire lifecycle of the fleet, from technical integration to the daily management of commercial operations for both public and private sectors.

Global Expansion Strategies are Being Developed

Beyond the domestic market, the partnership is designed to establish a strong presence in international territories. Tripy Mobility has already initiated preparatory steps and formal applications to launch robotaxi operations in London, signaling a broader commitment to the European market.

Tripy Mobility plans to offer flexible fleet leasing and mobility-as-a-service models for corporate clients to accelerate the adoption of autonomous transport.

The company is currently coordinating with regulatory bodies to obtain the necessary permits for test runs within Turkey. As the legal framework for autonomous vehicles continues to evolve, these trials will provide the empirical data needed to scale the service effectively. By combining Chinese engineering prowess with Turkish operational expertise, the project positions itself as a key driver of the future of urban mobility.

As we prepare for the arrival of autonomous vehicles on our streets, we would love to hear your thoughts: How do you believe the widespread adoption of robotaxis will transform your daily commute and urban life in Turkey?
