Taiwan-based semiconductor manufacturer TSMC responded to allegations that it supplied artificial intelligence chips to Huawei in a written statement. The company stated that it had not had any commercial relations with the Chinese company since September 2020.
TSMC denied allegations that it sold chips to Huawei
TSMC’s statement came after accusations that Huawei continued to produce artificial intelligence systems equipped with advanced chips despite the US embargo decision.

While there has been a significant increase in the number of Chinese-based artificial intelligence projects recently; Huawei’s launch of powerful chips such as the Ascend 910C had increased suspicions about TSMC.
TSMC, on the other hand, clearly denied these allegations. Company officials stated that they only completed orders placed by Huawei during the 120-day legal period valid until September 14, 2020, before the sanctions came into effect.
TSMC reported that no shipments have been made to Huawei directly or indirectly since this period, and that they have coordinated with US authorities in all orders received from third parties.
It is stated that Huawei derived the Ascend 910C chip from the Ascend 910B models it had produced through TSMC in the pre-embargo period. It was claimed that these chips provided performance at the level of Nvidia H10.
The developments have once again revealed that the technology competition between the US and China is intensifying over artificial intelligence chips. So what do you think about this issue? You can easily share your views with us in the comments section below.
