ASELSAN was founded 49 years ago today, on November 14, 1975, in response to the embargoes imposed on Turkey after the Cyprus Peace Operation. To mark the 49th anniversary, an ASELSAN delegation visited Anıtkabir, the eternal resting place of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, on November 14.
Led by ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol, the delegation walked the Lion Road and proceeded to Atatürk’s mausoleum. After Akyol laid a wreath, the team observed a moment of silence and sang the National Anthem.
The delegation wore special badges commemorating ASELSAN’s 49th anniversary. Following the ceremony at Atatürk’s mausoleum, General Manager Akyol went to the National Pact Tower and signed the Anıtkabir Honor Book.
Akyol wrote in the Honor Book:
“Dear Atatürk, we celebrate the 49th anniversary of ASELSAN with great excitement.
ASELSAN, founded to meet the communication needs of our security forces through local production, has today become one of the nation’s pride. From under the seas to the depths of space, ASELSAN’s technologies are present on every platform produced by Turkey.
‘We will continue to grow’
ASELSAN’s achievements extend far beyond Turkey. To date, we have successfully exported to 90 different countries, becoming the world’s 42nd largest defense company. Last year, we ranked among the 10 fastest-growing defense companies globally. And we are not stopping here; we will strive to turn ASELSAN into a fully global company. By 2030, we aim to be one of the world’s 30 largest defense companies and continue to advance confidently toward this goal.
To achieve this ambitious target, we will continue to produce the best in our field, develop game-changing technologies, and pursue export-focused growth. ASELSAN stands as a living example of what a nation confident in itself, its people, and its youth can achieve. The values that led to our national struggle’s success are also ASELSAN’s values. The ASELSAN family of more than 11,000 is determined to expand our company and bring even greater pride to our nation.
As we approach our 50th year, we will continue to bring joy to our nation with new successes. We will shield the Republic you built with steel armor. We pledge to work harder and produce more to elevate the Republic to its rightful place in the world. May you rest in peace.”
