Nintendo continues to enrich its digital subscription service with nostalgic titles. The company has officially announced the addition of two major classics from Ubisoft to the Nintendo 64 library. According to the announcement, Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Tonic Trouble, which will join the Nintendo Switch Online games, will be available to players starting December 17th.
Rayman 2: The Great Escape: 3D Platforming Fun
The first game added to the list is Rayman 2: The Great Escape, considered one of the undisputed best in the platforming genre. In this 3D action-adventure game, players use speed, agility, and magical powers to fight against pirates who are enslaving the world. Featuring 45 different locations, the game includes unforgettable mechanics such as surfing rivers of lava, flying with hair like a helicopter, and fighting ice giants.
The second game is Tonic Trouble, a hidden gem from the N64 era. A toxic liquid spilled onto the world due to the clumsiness of the character Ed transforms vegetables into monsters, leading to a chaotic adventure. Set in 12 different worlds filled with killer tomatoes and biting carrots, the game blends action with brain-teasing puzzles. From ski slopes to pyramid mazes, you’ll help Ed restore the world to its former glory in this adventure.
Accessing these two classics isn’t just a standard Nintendo Switch Online membership. N64 games are offered in the service’s “Expansion Pack” tier. This premium pack provides access to N64 games as well as SEGA Genesis and Game Boy Advance libraries. Subscribers also get access to paid DLCs for popular games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons at no extra cost.
