Samsung has plans to prevent the Galaxy S25 series from being expensive. Samsung is preparing to introduce at least three new high-end smartphone models: the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. Until now, rumors agreed that Samsung relied on a single chip for the Galaxy S23 models. However, due to pricing policies, Samsung might abandon Qualcomm chips for the Galaxy S25 series. Here are the details…
Exynos or Qualcomm? Which chip will Samsung use in the Galaxy S25 series?
Despite rumors that Samsung will only use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip in the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is making significant efforts to bring back Exynos chips. There were some issues with the production of Exynos chips, and production efficiency remained low. However, Samsung is working to solve these issues and increase production efficiency to around 60%.
Currently, Samsung is miles away from this target, so it is expected that Qualcomm chips will be used in the Galaxy S25 series. However, Samsung does not want to accept this and, according to SamMobile, is desperately working to improve chip production efficiency. The goal is to ensure that a new Exynos chip is used in the Galaxy S25 smartphones.
For the chips to go into mass production, this rate needs to be 60% by the third quarter of 2024. It is not yet known whether Samsung will use the Exynos chip in all S25 models or only in the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus. Currently, only the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a Qualcomm chip.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip is expected to be much more expensive than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This could raise the prices of Samsung’s phones. However, it is believed that using Exynos chips could keep costs under control. This could provide a significant advantage, especially in the highly competitive smartphone market.
