Important discovery for fertility! UV effect

Scientists have used UV light for sperm quality enhancement treatment. The results are promising for increased fertility.

One of the most fundamental problems of humanity today is fertility and reproduction. Especially today, men’s sperm quality and fertility are among the important factors affecting fertility. Ali Vafaie and his team, who conducted research within the scope of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), came up with an important discovery in this sense. According to this, UV rays have a healing effect for reproduction and sperm quality.

In their research, scientists exposed each sperm cell individually to UV light. In fact, previous research has shown that UV radiation improves sperm quality. However, this is the first time it has been revealed how effective UV radiation is and how much it improves sperm quality.

Accordingly, the researchers encapsulated sperm cells in micro-droplets. Sperm exposed to UV light gained 266 percent strength. At the same time, 34 percent of immobile sperm cells gained movement.

This high rate of sperm power increase ensures that sperm quality also increases. In particular, the acceleration and movement of sperms also increases the rate of reproduction. The fact that UV rays improve sperm quality so much is a beacon of hope for patients receiving infertility treatment. A UV radiation treatment that can be applied to everyone can replace expensive drug treatments for infertility and improve sperm power.

The Earth isn’t flat, but Jupiter might have been flat at one time!

The decline in sperm quality has been increasing recently due to air pollution, irregular and fatty diets and lack of exercise. Especially the increase in immobile sperm cells is an important obstacle to fertility. Even in this study, even if sperm strength has increased, only 34 percent of immobile sperm can gain strength. In this sense, although UV rays are an important revolution for sperm quality, research continues for infertility treatment.

In this sense, an important study investigating the genetic codes behind human infertility was included as a special file subject in Science last year. Yet another study is trying to unravel the secret of the competition between highly motile spermatozoa. In short, scientists are exploring all possibilities, including UV rays, to increase fertility and improve sperm quality.
