VAIO introduced the VAIO SX14-R and VAIO Pro PK-R notebook models, which stand out with their lightweight design and powerful hardware. Both models come with Intel’s new generation Core Ultra processors. The company is especially targeting users who want a combination of mobility and performance. So what features does it come with?
VAIO’s SX14-R and Pro PK-R laptops with Intel Core Ultra processors take the stage
Interestingly, these devices don’t use Intel’s latest Core Ultra 2 (Lunar Lake) series, but rather Core Ultra 1 processors from the previous generation Meteor Lake series. However, this doesn’t mean that the performance of the devices is compromised, as both models are packed with impressive features.
The VAIO SX14-R comes with a choice of Intel Core Ultra 5 125H or the more powerful Core Ultra 7 155H processor. This model, which prioritizes portability with its light and thin structure, has become one of the lightest laptops on the market with a weight of only 999 grams.
The device offers two different 14-inch screen options: 1920 x 1200 resolution matte screen or 2560 x 1600 resolution touchscreen for those who want a more vivid image. Both screens are equipped with anti-glare features. The connectivity-rich SX14-R offers a wide range of port options, including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI and Ethernet, allowing users to work with any device.
On the other hand, the VAIO Pro PK-R model is designed more for the business world. In addition to the touch screen, this device also has active pen support. The screen can also be opened 180 degrees so that the device can be placed completely flat on the desk.
The Pro PK-R is also quite ambitious in terms of weight, weighing only 948 grams without compromising on portability. In terms of processor options, the Pro PK-R model offers different versions of the Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 series.
The fact that both models will only be available in Japan may upset VAIO fans. Because, for the moment, there is no clear information about whether it will be available in the global market.
