Riot Games is preparing for a major technological transition for its competitive FPS game Valorant. The game, which was released with Unreal Engine 4 in 2020, will be moved to Unreal Engine 5 with the 11.02 update to be released in July 2025.
Valorant will switch to Unreal Engine 5
The company states that this transition will not create major changes in the visual or gameplay side, but will provide significant gains in terms of performance. The new game engine aims not only to provide graphical optimization, but also to release patch updates faster and more efficiently.

Riot announced that this structural change will be felt in a way that will directly affect the gaming experience. This move of the game, which has been running on the Unreal Engine 4 infrastructure for a long time, is seen as an important step in terms of technology.
In addition to the engine change, another new feature is coming to Valorant towards the end of the year. The “Replay” system will be integrated into the game with the 11.06 update. This system will allow you to re-watch matches played especially in competitive mode.
Players will be able to analyze their own performance and detect cheating in suspicious situations more easily. The Replay feature, which will initially be available only on the PC platform, will also be accessible to Xbox Series and PlayStation users in the future.
Riot Games also announced that this feature will not be limited to competitive matches, and that work is ongoing to make it available in other game modes. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
