Launched by the group Re-born to be Alive, the campaign targets younger audiences who may not have considered formally registering as donors. Belgium has an opt-out system, but families can still block donation if wishes aren’t clear. That’s why explicit registration matters.
At present, 1,470 people in Belgium are waiting for life-saving transplants.

In the Virtual Donors mods, an in-game death allows the player to “donate” extra lives to up to eight friends. It’s a symbolic nod to how one real donor can save as many as eight people.
Founder Stephanie Keustermans explained the idea: “Registration is not a formality but a responsibility. We want to reach younger audiences through experiences that speak their language.”

Professor Eric Hoste, who heads the Belgian Transplantation Society, stressed that a clear, registered choice benefits everyone involved. He said it provides peace to grieving families, speeds up urgent medical decisions, and ultimately saves lives.
