Following the global rollout of its flagship phones, the X300 and X300 Pro, Vivo is preparing to launch the top-of-the-line Vivo X300 Ultra in 2026. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the phone’s most talked-about aspect is its camera capabilities.
Ultra Camera Performance with Dual 200 Megapixel Lenses
The X300 Ultra is expected to set a new benchmark in mobile photography. The phone’s camera setup will be as follows:
- A 200 MP main (wide) camera.
- A second 200 MP lens to handle telephoto duties.
- A 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

However, the X300 Ultra may not be Vivo’s only imaging product planned for next year. According to Digital Chat Station, a leading leak source on Weibo, the company is also working on a standalone action camera.
The device is estimated to be released in the first half of 2026. While not confirmed, there’s a possibility the action camera will be launched alongside the X300 Ultra. The leak source declined to share the action camera’s specifications.
Vivo’s entry into the action camera market is not surprising given the company’s history. Vivo was one of the first smartphone brands to experiment with hardware-based stabilization technologies, introducing its groundbreaking micro-gimbal system in the Vivo X50 Pro.
Vivo continued to use this gimbal-based stabilization in its rear cameras until the micro-gimbal mechanism could no longer handle the camera sensors as they physically grew larger and heavier.
This history demonstrates Vivo’s significant experience in both hardware and software stabilization, two of the most critical elements for an action camera. Turning this expertise into a dedicated product seems like a logical next step for the company.
