vivo and Oppo are preparing to enter a fierce competition with their next-generation flagship phones, which they will launch in October. While vivo is announcing the X300 Pro, Oppo is expected to unveil the Find X9 Pro. Both devices will reportedly use the Dimensity 9500 chipset and share the same main camera. Here are the details.
vivo X300 Pro and Oppo Find X9 Pro will share a camera
Last year’s release of the vivo X200 Pro and Oppo Find X8 Pro used Sony LYT-818 and LYT-808 sensors, respectively. This year, the situation is different. vivo has officially confirmed that the X300 Pro will use the 50-megapixel Sony LYT-828 as its primary camera sensor. Oppo Find Series Product Manager Zhou Yibao also confirmed that the Find X9 Pro will feature the same sensor.

According to leakers, the new LYT-828 sensor offers over 100 dB higher dynamic range thanks to hybrid frame HDR (HF-HDR) technology. This technology provides power efficiency in both photo and video shooting. Both brands aim to customize camera performance by integrating their own proprietary technologies into the LYT-828 (such as VCS for vivo and instant triple exposure for Oppo).
Both phones are expected to use the same 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 sensor for ultra-wide-angle shooting. Vivo confirmed that the X300 Pro will include a custom-built 200-megapixel Samsung HPB periscope telephoto camera in its rear camera setup. The Oppo Find X9 Pro is rumored to feature a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 periscope telephoto camera.
