WhatsApp is working on a new “voice chat” feature to make group communication simpler and faster. The popular messaging platform under the Meta umbrella is testing a voice chat button that can be initiated with a single tap in group conversations. So, what will this feature do? Details in our news
WhatsApp adds a new voice communication button for group chats
In a nutshell, this innovation is intended to provide a voice communication environment in groups with a large number of participants, where all members can participate at the same time or at any time without getting lost in the chaos of text messages. This system is slightly different from existing group calls.
While current group calls require everyone to answer at the same time, with this feature, group members can join or leave the conversation at any time. This reduces the problems caused by timing mismatches in large and active communities and paves the way for instant idea sharing and natural voice communication.
It should be noted that the feature in question is still under development. It is estimated that the feature is probably being tested in Android beta versions of WhatsApp. There is no official statement about when the company will bring this feature to the stable version. However, if the testing process is completed successfully, we can say that a similar update will be offered to iOS and desktop platforms in the coming period.
In short, the voice chat feature that WhatsApp is working on plans to offer a more flexible and always-on voice channel than before, without the need to catch group members online at the same time. What do you think about this feature? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
