The Volkswagen Group increased its electric vehicle deliveries by 59% compared to the same period last year to 216,800 vehicles in the first quarter of 2025. With this growth, the Group increased the share of electric models in total vehicle deliveries from 6% to 10%.
Volkswagen’s electric vehicle sales increased by 59%
The company delivered 157,800 electric vehicles in Europe in the January-March period. This means an increase of 112.3% compared to the same period last year. In the US, 20,400 electric vehicles were delivered, an increase of 54.9%. Deliveries in China fell by 36.8% to 25,900 units.

When we look at the Group’s total sales, 2.13 million vehicles were delivered worldwide in the first quarter of the year. 82,500 of these deliveries were plug-in hybrid models. This figure also indicates a 15% increase compared to the previous year.
The biggest leap in electric vehicle sales by brand came from Porsche. The brand, which is in the luxury segment, increased its electric vehicle sales from 4,300 in the first quarter of last year to 18,400 this year, growing by 326%.
151,400 units were delivered under the Volkswagen brand, which meant an increase of 57.5%. Skoda delivered 27,000 units (39.6% increase), Seat 18,600 units (167.4% increase) and Audi 46,400 units (30% increase).
