Dongfeng Motor’s luxury sub-brand, Voyah, has officially launched its latest flagship electric vehicle, the Voyah Taishan. Priced between RMB 379,900 and RMB 509,900 (approximately €45,400 to €60,900), this massive SUV targets discerning buyers with its long electric range and high-tech features.
800V Architecture with 1,400 km Range to Stir Up the Luxury Electric SUV Market
Voyah intends to take the lead in the luxury six-seater market by positioning the Taishan directly against established competitors like the Aito M9, Denza N9, and Zeekr 9X. The company has also announced a special high-end version of the Taishan, the Black Warrior Edition; however, customers will have to wait until the first quarter of 2026 for deliveries.

The Voyah Taishan stands out on the road with its impressive dimensions. The SUV measures 5.23 meters long, 2.03 meters wide, and 1.82 meters tall. Its generous 3.12-meter wheelbase allows for a spacious six-seat layout, particularly appealing to the needs of the premium family segment.
The exterior design features Voyah’s signature design language, featuring a striking, deep waterfall-style shield grille. At the front, an integrated LED light strip connecting the centrally positioned illuminated Voyah emblem gives the vehicle a modern look. The main high- and low-beam headlight units are elegantly concealed within the side air intakes as part of the split headlight arrangement. The two-tone bodywork presents a sleek profile, complemented by semi-concealed door handles and uniquely designed “pie-dish” wheels.

Under the hood of the Taishan is the Voyah Smart Super Hybrid system. This setup combines a 1.5T engine producing a maximum output of 110 kW with two electric motors (150 kW at the front and 230 kW at the rear) providing all-wheel drive. The real eye-catcher is its energy storage capacity. The SUV comes standard with a large 65 kWh ternary lithium battery pack supplied by industry giant CATL. This battery gives the Taishan a pure electric range of 370 km (1,400 miles). Combined with the hybrid system, the total comprehensive range extends to 1,400 km (1,400 miles), eliminating range anxiety on long journeys. This capability means that most daily commutes can be completed without using gasoline, making the Taishan an effective part-time EV.
The Taishan’s charging speed demonstrates the advanced nature of its EV architecture. The vehicle runs on an 800V high-voltage platform and supports 5C ultra-fast charging. The Taishan can charge its battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 12 minutes. This feature largely eliminates charging anxiety, making the transition to EV driving seamless.
To manage this imposing size, Taishan engineers have incorporated an advanced suspension system that looks like it came straight out of a luxury concept car. The system pairs a three-chamber air suspension with the EDC (Electronic Damper Control) “Magic Carpet” function. This sophisticated setup manages ride quality with incredible precision. For enhanced maneuverability in tight urban spaces, the Taishan also features 16° dual-direction independent rear-wheel steering.
The interior design follows the “Mountains and Seas” philosophy, prioritizing passenger comfort and high-tech features. At the center of the dashboard is a large, floating control display, powered by the latest version of Huawei’s HarmonyOS cockpit audio model.
Huawei’s involvement in the vehicle’s brain doesn’t stop there: the ADS Ultra intelligent assisted driving solution powers the Taishan. This system utilizes four LiDAR sensors, including Huawei’s advanced 500-thread LiDAR sensor, providing the Taishan with urban NCA (Navigational Navigation Assistance) and full-scenario automatic parking capabilities.
To ensure passengers travel in luxury, Taishan offers AI Cloud Comfort Seats and a 32-speaker “Tianlai” panoramic sound system. This audio setup features a 9.1.5.8 channel configuration and a maximum amplifier power of 2300W.
The combination of size, long EV range, ultra-fast charging, and Huawei technology makes the Voyah Taishan a true contender in the premium large SUV class. As manufacturers continue to push the boundaries for both electric and luxury vehicles, Taishan offers range flexibility without sacrificing advanced features.
