Discovery was previously a 35 percent shareholder of the local and online content platform BluTV. However, according to the latest information shared, the situation is changing. The Competition Authority announced in an announcement that the acquisition was approved.
On the other hand, according to the statement, Warner Bros. Discovery will acquire BluTV. However, the statement did not include any details about the financial part of the agreement. “The shares of BluTV İletişim ve Digital Yayın Hizmetleri AŞ are owned by Discovery Medya Hizmetleri Ltd. Ltd. ultimately through Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. “The takeover transaction was allowed.”

Reportedly, Discovery paid $20 million for 35 percent of BluTV. The value of BluTV was around 57 million dollars. As part of the agreement, BluTV will join Warner Bros Discovery Inc. However, it is expected that it will increase its activities in Turkey.
