WatchOS 9.1 now allows downloading without charging

Apple announced many new devices, software, and more on October 18. While the most important devices are the new 10th Gen iPad and iPad Pro, there are also important updates for wearable devices. Apple released a new update, watchOS 9.1 RC (Release Candidate), to the Apple Watch operating system. Additionally, the company released iOS 16.1 RC (Release Candidate) for developers and beta users on Tuesday. Here are the details about watchOS 9.1.

watchOS 9.1 makes it possible to download musics over Wi-Fi or cellular without charging

The new update brings some important features, but one of them is the featured, Apple Music downloads. Thanks to the watchOS 9.1, you can now use Apple Music downloads on Apple Watch over Wi-Fi or cellular when your watch is off the charger. While it was impossible to sync Apple Music songs from the iPhone earlier without putting the device on the charger, it is now available to use this feature without charging.

With the new update, users can now download music on the Apple Watch while it is unplugged. According to Apple’s announcements, the feature works when the Apple Watch in connect to the internet via Wi-Fi or cellular.

Additionally, the update brings some other improvements in terms of battery, connectivity, and more. The watchOS 9.1 extends battery life while using Apple Watch SE 2, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch Ultra during select workouts. The software reduces the frequency of heart rate and GPS reading during these workouts.

The latest update also comes with fixed bugs, improvements in system security, and more. The update will be available for all Apple Watch Series 4 and later on Monday, October 24. In addition, the tech giant will also release iOS 16.1, iPadOS 16.1, tvOS 16.1, and macOS Ventura to the public on the same day.
