watchOS 9.4 update has been released: Here are the new features!
Apple has released the watchOS 9.4 update today, which is the fourth major update to the watchOS 9 operating system that was first released in September of last year. The update arrives two months after the release of watchOS 9.3.
What does the watchOS 9.4 update bring?
Users can download the new software for free from the Apple Watch app on their iPhone, provided that the watch has at least 50% charge and is connected to the charger and the iPhone.
The watchOS 9.4 update brings new emoji characters like donkey, camel, black bird, head-banging, hyacinth, and pea. It also prevents accidental silencing of wake-up alarms by adding a mute gesture to prevent them from being turned off.

Furthermore, AFib History and Cycle Tracking have been expanded to new countries according to Apple’s full release notes. Additionally, Apple is expected to be working on transitioning to watchOS 10, which is expected to be unveiled at WWDC in June, making watchOS 9.4 one of the last updates to the watchOS operating system.

- Wake-up alarms are no longer silenced with cover to mute gesture to avoid accidental cancellations during sleep
- Cycle Tracking with retrospective ovulation estimates and cycle deviation alerts now supported in Moldova and Ukraine
- AFib History now available in Colombia, Malaysia, Moldova, Thailand, and Ukraine
