Apple is preparing to make one of the biggest changes to the iPad Pro model since 2018. What awaits us with the new iPad Pro, whose launch date and some technical specifications have been leaked? Here are the details…
New iPad Pro features are getting clearer
The new iPad Pro and iPad Air models were expected to launch in March or April. However, Apple appears to have faced a number of development and manufacturing issues that have caused the launch to be delayed.
According to a supply chain report this week, the launch of the new iPads has been delayed several times. The delays are said to be caused by both hardware and software bottlenecks.
The new iPad Pro and iPad Air models will ship with iPadOS 17.4 out of the box, and Apple is having trouble finalizing this software update. In addition, the new iPads will feature OLED displays, which Apple has never produced before. These displays require new manufacturing techniques, which reportedly contributed to the delays.
Bloomberg reported that the new iPad Pro and iPad Air will be released in early May. Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst Ross Young said in a report that new iPad models will start shipping out of Apple’s supply chain this month.
According to Young, production of the 11-inch iPad lags behind that of the 12.9-inch model, suggesting it could be hard to find when it launches. It’s worth noting that the OLED display for the new iPad models is manufactured by LG.
