WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging application with millions of active users, introduced the Avatar feature a few months ago. Previously available in Meta’s Instagram and Facebook applications, this feature allows users to create a personalized digital appearance by selecting hairstyles, face types, and clothing styles.
Currently, the Avatar feature available on WhatsApp provides a static digital representation, similar to a picture. However, it has been revealed that WhatsApp is working on the highly requested Animated Avatar feature.
WhatsApp is working on the Animated Avatar feature!
This feature was noticed in the beta update with version number 2.23.15.6 released for Android users. It is currently in the testing phase. Animated Avatars, which will make the avatars more lively and add color to communication, will also enrich the conversations.
As seen in the screenshot provided by WABetaInfo, which publishes WhatsApp-related content, the feature makes the existing avatars animated. It is currently unknown when WhatsApp will release the stable version that includes the Animated Avatar feature to everyone. However, predictions point to the upcoming weeks.
To access the current static Avatar feature within any chat, you can click on the Emoji icon in the message box. If you haven’t created your own Avatar yet, you can do so from the Settings section.
In addition to these developments, WhatsApp is currently testing the feature that allows login with a phone number for WhatsApp Web. This feature, which eliminates the need for a QR code, is also expected to be available to everyone soon.
