Meta has officially announced that WhatsApp will cease support for older iPhone and iPad models starting November 30, 2026. As the company continuously updates its technical infrastructure to maintain high security and performance standards, it requires users to operate on more modern operating systems. This decision mandates that all iPhone and iPad users must ensure their devices are running at least iOS 15.5 or iPadOS 15.5 by the deadline to maintain uninterrupted access to the messaging platform. Meta periodically reviews software requirements to ensure that legacy versions of operating systems, which lack critical security updates, do not compromise the integrity of the application.

Technical Requirements are Being Updated by Meta
