WhatsApp, the most popular instant messaging application with billions of users around the world, continues to make a name for itself with important innovations. WhatsApp, which has recently gained a number of new features in line with the needs of users, is now getting the Encrypted Messages feature for Chat Locking. Here are the details of the innovation…
New method for Chat Locking on WhatsApp: Encrypted Messages feature is on the way!
Meta, the owner of WhatsApp, is increasing the importance it attaches to security and privacy. In this context, the company launched the chat lock feature that can be opened with a fingerprint scanner and face scan in recent months. The aim was to prevent access to important messages when the user’s phone is in someone else’s hands. Now, password is also included among the unlocking options.
Meta announced today on WhatsApp’s official X (Twitter) account that it has introduced the Encrypted Messages feature. This feature allows you to lock the chats you want with a special password you set. The secret code you set for the lock can consist of letters, numbers, special characters, and emojis.
According to the information reported, in order to list the locked chats, it is enough to type the code you set in the search box. This way, if someone else gets your phone, it will be very difficult for them to find the chats in question if they don’t know your password.
Meta has rolled out Encrypted Messages for WhatsApp in some countries. When it will be available for everyone worldwide is unknown for now. Estimates indicate the coming weeks. As a result, it seems that there is nothing to do but wait now.
With its latest update, WhatsApp has made it easier to protect your chats, let alone Encrypted Messages. Now, you just need to tap and hold on a chat you want to take a security measure and tap the “Lock” option.
