WhatsApp did not offend those who wanted a darker theme. With the new update, the dark mode will become even darker. The new theme, which is currently being tested in the 2.24.22.4 beta version for Android users, will especially please users who like dark mode. So, when will it be available?
Darker dark theme coming to WhatsApp
With the ultra-dark mode, WhatsApp’s current background color #0b141a is replaced by a darker and deeper shade of #0a1014. While this color change may sound like a minor detail, we can say that the app will be even less tiring on our eyes.
The new theme will not only change the background color, the default background of message bubbles and chats will also be darker. This means that eyes will be less tired in low light and texts will be easier to read. It will provide a great comfort especially for those who use WhatsApp late at night.
In fact, WhatsApp has recently taken a few important steps in design and customization. In the beta version released recently, users had the opportunity to customize chat themes with 22 different colors. Now, an ultra-dark theme has been added to these 22 themes.
For now, this new feature is only available to select beta testers. But the good news is that WhatsApp plans to roll out the new dark theme and other design updates to a wider audience in the coming weeks.
