WhatsApp offers a practical solution for users who overlook or forget to reply to important messages in busy chats. The “Remind me” feature, which was first seen in testing a few weeks ago, has been rolled out to all users with the latest update. This new tool allows you to easily set a reminder to return to a specific message later.
How does the WhatsApp Remind me feature work?
The feature is quite simple to use. Users can select a message they want to reply to and set a reminder by selecting one of the preset timeframes, ranging from 1 minute to 24 hours, or a custom time of their own choosing.

When the specified time is up, WhatsApp sends a standard message notification, but with a “Reminder” label. This label lets the user know that this is not a new message but a conversation they previously requested a reminder for. Furthermore, reminders can be canceled at any time, and the feature works seamlessly in both individual and group chats.
Meta emphasizes that the feature is completely discreet. This means that when you set a reminder for a message, the person or group member on the other end of the conversation won’t be notified. This innovation promises a more streamlined communication experience by eliminating the need for users to resort to workarounds like marking chats as “unread” to avoid forgetting important messages.
