WhatsApp has begun testing a new feature in the Android beta version that will reduce the workload of group admins. With this feature, which is currently in development, the process of adding new users to group chats becomes more flexible and systematic. The feature aims to make things easier for admins, especially in groups with large groups.
WhatsApp is introducing a significant innovation
The new system gives admins greater control over who can add members to a group. Group admins can authorize users to join via an invitation link or QR code.

These authorized individuals can add new members to the group, even if they are not admins. However, this is entirely with the admin’s permission. Sharing, activating, or deactivating the invitation link remains under the admin’s control.
The main purpose of the feature is to speed up the membership process in groups with large numbers of participants. However, WhatsApp has also implemented security measures to prevent this convenience from being exploited.
Admins can restrict invitation links to specific users. Additionally, users must also receive approval from the admin before they can send messages or share media.
To create a group invite on WhatsApp, users simply visit the group page they are an admin of and access the group information section. From there, they can generate an invitation link, view a QR code, or copy the link to share in other apps.
The feature is currently in beta testing, accessible only to Android users. WhatsApp has not yet announced when it will release the feature to the general public. However, depending on the progress of the testing process, it is expected to be rolled out to more users in the coming weeks. This new system aims to provide a more secure and organized participation structure, particularly for groups that manage mass communication.
