WhatsApp Launches Real-Time Monitoring Era

WhatsApp continues its innovations focused on user security without slowing down. The WhatsApp Android 2.26.15.6 beta update, offered through the Google Play Beta Program, revealed a critical security feature closely concerning those who use their accounts on multiple devices. It is now becoming much easier and faster to monitor the activities of linked devices.
“Simultaneous” Notification Revolution in Linked Device Activity
This new feature WhatsApp is working on allows users to instantly monitor activities on linked devices through their primary devices. In the current system, users had to manually enter the “Linked Devices” page from the settings menu to check which devices were connected. With the new update, WhatsApp is implementing a real-time notification system.
If another linked device (web, desktop, or tablet) becomes active simultaneously while using WhatsApp on your primary device, a notification instantly pops up on your phone.

Emergency Intervention Against Unauthorized Access
The main purpose of this feature is to proactively protect account security. Users will be able to understand in seconds whether a device accesses their accounts without their knowledge. In case of a suspicious activity, the notification will direct the user straight to the active sessions management page. Thus, users will be able to ensure the security of their accounts by terminating sessions they do not recognize or that should not be active at that moment with a single touch.
Locked Chats Are Now Secure on Linked Devices Too
Another important improvement brought by the update is the expansion of the scope of locked chats. As is known, chats that were previously locked on the primary device could appear open on linked devices (for example, on WhatsApp Web). With the new beta version, locked chats are now simultaneously protected across all linked devices. Users will have to use the secret code they set on their primary devices to access these sensitive conversations on their linked devices. This step is seen as part of WhatsApp’s goal to make its end-to-end privacy vision consistent across all platforms.
Development Process Continues
These security features, currently in the testing phase, will be optimized according to feedback from beta users. After the notification transmission methods and synchronization speed are perfected, WhatsApp is expected to gradually roll out these features to all Android and then iOS users. In an era where cybersecurity is becoming more critical day by day, this “early warning system” offered by WhatsApp is described as one of the most concrete steps taken to protect digital privacy.
