Apple made headlines in the world of technology with its mixed reality glasses introduced at WWDC 23. Apple Vision Pro created a bombshell effect with both its features and price. Previous reports suggest that the device will come back with an affordable version.
The affordable Vision Pro is set to be released towards the end of 2025
Apple’s mixed reality headset, Vision Pro, introduced at WWDC23, made waves in the technology world with its price tag of $3,500. When compared to Meta’s more affordable Quest 3 headset, which costs $499, there is a noticeable gap.
According to Mark Gurman, who is famous for Apple news, the company is working on an affordable model. Apple plans to release the affordable Vision Pro model by the end of 2025. Of course, reducing the price means it may come with a lower-quality display or an older Mac chip.
Naturally, the device has sparked discussions about its price. There is a large segment of people who believe it is quite expensive. Regarding these rumors, Apple CEO Tim Cook made a statement about the price of Vision Pro. In an interview he gave the other day, Cook said that Apple Vision Pro, the company’s first spatial computer, is “the most advanced piece of electronic equipment in the market” and added the following statement:
The engineering inside Vision Pro is mind-boggling. You get a 4K resolution experience in each eye. Of course, this doesn’t come for free. There is a cost to doing this, but I think the price we set is reasonable considering the experience it offers.
Clear information about the production cost of the product is not available. However, it is believed that almost every Apple product costs the company over $2,000 to produce. Especially the high-quality aluminum body and curved glass in Vision Pro indicate high costs. In addition, the micro-OLED display used in the mixed reality glasses attracts attention.
