The upcoming major event will feature the new iPhone 17 series, the Apple Watch series, and more. It will also feature a new iOS update. Apple’s next major iPhone update, iOS 26, features a new design called “Liquid Glass” and numerous new features. With beta testing ongoing, there’s also speculation about when the official, publicly accessible version will be released. Here are the details.
When Will iOS 26 Be Released?
So far, Apple has only officially confirmed that iOS 26 will arrive this fall. However, considering the company’s past software release schedule, a more precise date is possible.

The release dates for the past three major iOS versions are as follows:
- iOS 18: Monday, September 16, 2024
- iOS 17: Monday, September 18, 2023
- iOS 16: Monday, September 12, 2022
Each of these launches occurred within a week of Apple’s major iPhone event. Given Apple’s iPhone 17 launch event on September 9, 2025, iOS 26 is expected to be available to all users in mid-September.
For those who don’t want to wait until September, Apple is offering a public beta of iOS 26. Anyone can access this beta by signing up at beta.apple.com. Because the release date is so close, the beta is reportedly relatively free of bugs and performance issues.
