Considering that an average person on Earth has at least one smartphone, the industry covers a significant area. Many companies are fiercely competing in the smartphone and tablet sector. In fact, Android models have the largest market share in the industry.
Android 11 serves 23.1% of Android devices
Android Studio has added another striking report regarding the status of operating systems on devices. While Google is currently preparing for Android 14, the company’s recent versions have not achieved a similar success in terms of distribution. Although Android 11 and 12, released by the company in previous years, have experienced slight declines, they still power many Android devices.
According to the shared information, Android 11 continues to be used by 23.1% of Android devices. The latest version, Android 13, continues to rise at 15%. In the report published by Android Studio last month, this percentage was 12.1%.
It is a known fact that Google distributes its latest versions according to a specific timeline. New versions are initially released for flagship devices. The increasing cost and high-end hardware requirements of Android devices lead to a decrease in the target audience.
On the other hand, Google has released the Android 14 Beta 2.1 update. The initial beta version of Android 14 had many bugs. Therefore, Google quickly released Beta 1.1 to address the issues. However, this update was not sufficient to solve the problems. Later, during the Google I/O 2023 event, some of the issues were resolved with Android 14 Beta 2.
