Microsoft has been trying to attract users to Windows 11 for many years. Introduced in 2021 and offering a much different interface, Windows 11 has managed to increase the number of users according to the latest research. It has even reached the most users since its launch. Here are the most popular Windows versions.

Windows 11 continued its growth trend in the new year, reaching its highest market share since its launch. According to the latest report from research firm Statcounter, Windows 11 accounted for 27 percent of the overall Windows market in January 2024.
This figure represents an increase of 1.29 percentage points compared to the previous month. It also means it reached its highest share since its launch in 2021.
While the number of Windows 11 users is increasing, other Windows versions continue to decline. Windows 10, the longtime leader, dropped 0.95 percentage points to 66.47 percent in January. However, it is still by far the leader.
Windows 7, which has been used for years despite the end of support, fell from 3.35 percent to 3.05 percent. Among other older versions, Windows 8.1 remained stable at 1.73 percent, while Windows XP fell to 0.57 percent.

- Windows 7: 3.06
