Windows 11, Microsoft’s most modern operating system, was pushed to its limits by a developer named NTDev, running with only 184 MB of RAM. This interesting feat was made possible thanks to the developer’s specially optimized Tiny11 version. So, what is Tiny11? Details in our news…
Tiny11: Windows 11 minimal version run with only 184 MB of RAM!
In fact, Tiny11 removes all the unnecessary components of the Windows 11 operating system, making it incredibly lightweight. Tiny11 reduces the installation size of Windows 11 from the usual 20 GB to as little as 8 GB. Pre-installed apps, OneDrive and other heavy programs are removed from the system, optimizing it for older PCs or low-equipped devices. This way, Tiny11 can run even with only a very low RAM capacity.
In tests conducted by NTDev, the system only used 183 MB of RAM with the Notepad app open. This low RAM capacity is made possible by supporting memory paging. However, it should be noted that such a system can only be used for basic functions and is not suitable for modern applications.
In fact, the Tiny11 experiment is not the first time NTDev has pushed Windows operating systems to their limits. The developer previously managed to run Windows 11 with only 100 MB of storage. He also pulled off an optimized version of Windows 10, installing it in 104 seconds.
Do you think such optimizations could be a solution for the reuse of older devices? You can write your opinions in the comments section below…
