Windows 11, when released, faced a barrage of criticism from users due to its minimum system requirements. According to leaked information, Microsoft has begun preparing a list of minimum system requirements for Windows 12, which is expected to be released next year.
According to the German Deskmodder publication, Microsoft has been working on the new operating system with the code name Next Valley since February 2022. Although the final version is not expected to be available for general use until the second half of 2024, it is stated that enough progress has been made in the software to prepare a list of minimum requirements.
Windows 12 minimum system requirements are becoming clear
Microsoft’s Windows 12 is said to support Intel’s 14th generation processor right out of the box. It is claimed that Windows 12 will initially support the Pluton coprocessor introduced with the Ryzen 6000 mobile processors in January 2022.

Windows 11’s minimum disk requirement was announced as 64 GB. According to leaked information, Microsoft will introduce 12 with a lower disk requirement.
Microsoft recently began testing SHA-3 (Secure Hash Algorithm 3) support in an Insider Build. However, Windows 12 is expected to use the TPM 2.0 Trusted Platform Module announced in Windows 11.
Microsoft set the minimum RAM capacity for Windows 11 at 4 GB. This value will increase to 8 GB with Windows 12.
The company has not yet finished updating Windows 11, which has been available for general use since October 2021. The current operating system is expected to be equipped with some features that will reach Next Valley. Additionally, the removal of old, vulnerable features like MSDT and VBScript is expected.
