A new mod has been released that brings the classic Windows 7 interface to Windows 11. You can use the iconic taskbar and Start menu of Windows 7 on the latest operating system in a few simple steps. Here is the latest Explorer7 tool.
How to use the Windows 7 Start menu in Windows 11
Explorer7 is a tool that brings the taskbar, notification area and other key interface elements from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1, 10 and 11. This makes it possible to use the iconic interface in new Windows versions. You can also go back to the familiar look.
Although the project is still in beta stage, first impressions are successful. The tool, which successfully brings the Windows 7 taskbar to the next generation Windows, does not cause problems in basic functions. Icons are placed directly on the taskbar and the Start menu opens from the bottom left.
Of course, Explorer7 has some limitations. For example, UWP applications developed for Windows 11 do not work on the Windows 7 interface. Also, the taskbar is not supported on multiple monitors.
The project continues to be actively developed on GitHub. As bugs are fixed and more functionality is added, Explorer7 will run more efficiently.
There are also other alternatives, Start11 and WindowsBlinds 11. Start 11 is free for 30 days, while WindowsBlinds 11 completely changes the theme for $27.
