Microsoft continues to develop not only Windows but also the applications within this operating system. In this context, the company is working on important innovations. According to recent developments, Microsoft is finally delivering the long-awaited feature. Accordingly, with the Phone Link application available on Windows, mobile devices will serve as webcams. Here are the details…

As you know, desktop computers do not have built-in cameras like laptops. Thus, there is a need for a webcam, not only for desktops but also for laptop users.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to achieve high-quality recordings with the cameras found in most laptops produced today. It’s hard to say that brands invest in this aspect. In this situation, users resort to using the phone camera as a webcam. Moreover, there are many apps available for this purpose. Fortunately, Microsoft is eliminating the need for these third-party apps with the new feature it’s working on.

Windows Phone Link

Microsoft is working on a new feature for the Phone Link application. For those who don’t know, this application on Windows allows you to synchronize your Android device with your computer through the Windows Connection available on the Play Store. Thus, you can view notifications, messages, and calls received on your phone, as well as transfer photos and videos.

A new and big update for Windows 11 is now live!

The highly anticipated Windows 11 Moment 5 version update has been released. So what does this version offer to users?

With the update released for the Phone Link application a few days ago, it was observed that a feature allowing the use of an Android device as a webcam was being worked on. According to the latest developments, this feature has begun testing.

Today, Microsoft announced on its official website through a blog post that Windows 11 Insider users will now be able to use their Android tablets and phones as webcams with the Phone Link application.

According to the information provided, users will be able to use not only the front but also the rear camera of their phone as a webcam with the new feature. Additionally, options for applying video effects and pausing video streaming will be available. To use this feature, your Android phone must be running Android 9.0 or later, and the Phone Link application must be version 1.24012 or later.

It is not yet known when the feature allowing the use of a phone as a webcam will be available for the Phone Link application on Windows. It is currently in the testing phase. Estimates for the release date suggest it will be in the coming months.
