First released in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt continues to rock the charts today. The game, which harbors many hidden secrets in its massive open world, has recently come to the agenda again. A player discovered the easter egg placed on the Witcher 3 map by CD Projekt Red after 9 years.
The new easter egg in Witcher 3
Novigrad, one of the main cities of Witcher 3, has been shrouded in mystery for nearly nine years. A YouTuber has uncovered a soldier poster of Temeria in Novigrad. Buried beneath the city, the poster features a Temarian soldier and the words “CDPR Needs You”.
The YouTuber explained that he used console commands to get under the city. The gamer guessed that there might be some interesting easter eggs at the bottom of Novigrad, but CD Projekt Red’s surprise was too much for him to contain his surprise. It is possible to say that this poster has been waiting to be discovered for nine years.
The player was unable to enter the restricted area under the city under normal conditions in the game. This suggests that the easter egg was left as a reference to a technical issue Witcher 3 experienced during development. According to some users, this is how CD Projekt Red tests experts who want to go after bugs.
A new game for The Witcher series is in development. CD Projekt said that it has more than 600 developers. More than 400 of them have been assigned to the next Witcher game, codenamed Polaris.
The Witcher series has been appealing to a large audience in recent years with both the game and the Netflix series. While a new story will be told with Witcher 4, a remake is being prepared for The Witcher presented in 2007. Company CEO Jakub Robosz said that “outdated or poorly crafted” scenes from the first game will be removed.
