The use of social media has become quite widespread in recent years. Billions of people around the world have at least one social media account. Of course, there may also be harmful images on these platforms, where everyone is free to share content. Although companies try to take precautions against this, this may sometimes be insufficient. X , or formerly known as Twitter , one of the most talked about social media platforms in recent times, is taking an important step. Here are all the details…
X (Twitter) is establishing a control center for child abuse content!
X (Twitter) , which was purchased by famous businessman Elon Musk in April 2022 , has made a name for itself with major changes since then. Musk aimed to make the platform an environment where ideas could be freely shared. However, this freedom has led to an increase in inappropriate content. Fortunately, the company is establishing a special team for this.
X (Twitter) Business Operations President Joe Benarroch told Bloomberg that a content moderation center will be established in Austin, Texas, USA . The company will hire 100 people for this.
Benarroch did not give a clear date for when this content moderation center would be opened. Because it is not clear yet. It was said that this team of 100 people would focus on child abuse content, aside from hate speech on X (Twitter) .
Benarroch’s relevant statement is as follows; X does not have a business focused on children, but it is important that we make these investments to prevent criminals from using our platform for any distribution or interaction with CSE content.
The lack of control over the content shared on the social media platform also reduces X’s (Twitter) advertising revenues. In this context, the company may take different steps in the coming periods.
