The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will be launched on December 8. After that, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra model is also expected to arrive. According to a recent leak, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2023. The device will feature four cameras on the back.
We may see the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in the global market
The main camera will be a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, offering 50 megapixels. This sensor is already included in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, but it is believed that the company will make better use of the sensor in the new model. The company is reportedly planning to include a very powerful image stabilization system in the 13 Ultra, and will utilize PDAF autofocus on the phone as well as a dTOF sensor. This sensor allows for the natural separation of objects and backgrounds.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun made a statement on Twitter announcing that the 12S Ultra will not be sold outside of China. Jun conveyed that the next Ultra smartphone, not the 12S Ultra, will be sold in global markets. In this respect, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will not be exclusive to the Chinese market. The device could also be called the Xiaomi 13S Ultra.
What will the other models of the Xiaomi 13 family offer in terms of cameras? The vanilla model features a 54-megapixel main + 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle + 10-megapixel telephoto camera configuration with 3.2x optical zoom and a Sony IMX800 sensor. Additionally, the Xiaomi 13 Pro includes 50-megapixel main + 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle + 50-megapixel telephoto cameras with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor and 3.2x optical zoom. Both models will come with Android 13 + MIUI 14 out of the box, and will offer glass, ceramic, and leather options for the back.
