Xiaomi’s new 15th generation phones are coming very soon. We have a full specs list for both phones, as well as an announcement date set for October 20. We also have a pretty good idea of what the Xiaomi 15 Pro will look like thanks to some previously published renders.
Xiaomi 15 Pro’s design revealed
Now, a device believed to be the Xiaomi 15 Pro has been spotted in its ‘natural environment’ with the same rear camera arrangement as in the aforementioned renders. You could easily mistake the phone in question for the Xiaomi 14 Pro, but the distinguishing part is now the LED flash located outside the main camera island. Other than that, the overall design language seems unchanged from the Xiaomi 14 Pro. By the way, the person holding the phone is Xiaomi Group Vice President Wang Xiaoyan, so it all makes sense.
Speaking of the distinctive new camera module, many agree that this new design is necessary to make room for the advanced new periscope telephoto camera. It is said to be a 50 MP 5x telemacro unit with a minimum focusing distance of 30 cm. The Leica-branded main camera is expected to be a 50 MP main unit with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and f/1.4 aperture. There is also a 50 MP ultra wide-angle and 32 MP selfie camera.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro is rumored to come with a 6.78-inch quad-curved AMOLED panel manufactured by TCL, “2K” resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC and paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. The battery has a capacity of 6,000 mAh and supports 90W wired and 80W wireless charging and offers 10W reverse wireless charging. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to come in black, white and silver. A special titanium version will also be available. Xiaomi will probably offer five major OS updates for the device.
