Xiaomi is preparing for a remarkable change in battery capacity with its new flagship series Xiaomi 16. According to the latest information, the basic model of the series, Xiaomi 16, will come with a 7,000 mAh battery.

Xiaomi 16 is on the agenda with its battery capacity

The Xiaomi 15 model, which was released last year, had a 5,240 mAh battery. The new capacity means an increase of approximately 33% compared to the previous model. The battery size, which was previously on the agenda with various figures such as 6,500 and 6,800 mAh, has been revised upwards with the latest leaks.

Details about the other hardware components of the Xiaomi 16 have also begun to become clear. It is stated that the device will come with a flat OLED screen between 6.3 and 6.39 inches. On the processor side, Qualcomm’s newly announced new generation chipset Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be present.

The camera system will include a triple 50 MP rear camera setup. It is reported that this setup will feature a 1/1.3-inch main sensor and a periscope telephoto module. The periscope camera maintains its place in the series as it did in last year’s model.

Xiaomi is expected to introduce the 16 series in China in late September. The global launch has been indicated as a few months after this date. The fact that the Xiaomi 15 was introduced in October and put on sale in the global market in March suggests that a similar schedule will be followed this year.
