Xiaomi’s highly anticipated flagship phone, the 17 Pro Max, has attracted the attention of the tech world with its high-end specifications, particularly its massive 7,500 mAh battery.
Xiaomi 17 Pro Max Battery Test
However, this battery power, expected to be the device’s biggest asset, was disappointing, performing below expectations in a comprehensive battery test. The benchmark pitted the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max against leading competitors such as the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
In addition to the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, the battery test also included models such as Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the OnePlus 13. While Xiaomi managed to outperform its competitors thanks to its large battery capacity, its results fell short of expectations.
Despite having a 7,500 mAh battery, it narrowly outperformed the 4,823 mAh iPhone 17 Pro Max by just 5 minutes. The Galaxy S25 Ultra came in last in the test. These striking results once again demonstrate the unrivaled energy efficiency of Apple’s devices, while also revealing Xiaomi’s inadequate software optimization.
Beyond battery performance, another downside of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max was its overheating problem. The device reached the highest temperature during the test period, reaching 47.6 degrees Celsius. In fact, the YouTube streamer was forced to briefly pause the test because the device’s temperature exceeded critical limits.
The final test results show: The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max with a 7,500 mAh battery came in at the top with 13 hours and 36 minutes, followed by the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a 4,823 mAh battery with 13 hours and 31 minutes.
