Xiaomi has added two new models to its smart TV accessories. The TV boxes called Mi Box 5 and Mi Box 5 Max were officially introduced in China and are available for pre-order. The devices offer advanced hardware in terms of image and audio technology.

The new Mi Box models use a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor. The entry-level Mi Box 5 includes 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The Mi Box 5 Max, which has more advanced hardware features, has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

Both models come with the HyperOS operating system developed by Xiaomi. This system also includes the XiaoAi voice assistant. Thus, users can control their TV boxes with voice commands. HyperOS offers a simple and interactive experience as a user interface.
The devices support 4K resolution output. In addition, Dolby Vision is among the image technologies. On the audio side, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support are included. On the connectivity side, both models feature Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 technologies.
The Mi Box 5 and 5 Max stand out with their compact design, measuring 97 × 97.1 × 17 mm and weighing less than 100 grams. The devices feature HDMI 2.1, USB 2.0, and power ports. In addition, thanks to NFC support, the screen mirroring feature can be used with a single touch.
