Key Innovations Coming with HyperOS 3
HyperOS 3 comes with several key innovations that will completely transform the user experience.
Xiaomi Super Island: Working similarly to Apple’s Dynamic Island, this feature distinguishes itself with its unique capabilities. It offers support for up to three islands, small-window multitasking, and drag-and-drop functionality from Super Island to supported apps.
Design and Appearance: New icons with more vibrant color palettes, rounded corners, and a brighter look stand out. The redesigned status bar and home screen search bar, as well as the “liquid glass” design found in the settings menu, give the interface a modern and premium feel. Gallery and Lock Screen: The new Gallery app features automatic album sorting, pet face recognition, and better photo organization. The lock screen is much easier to personalize with AI-powered dynamic wallpapers, different clock styles, and new fonts.
Performance and Optimization: HyperOS 3 also offers significant improvements behind the scenes. It increases energy efficiency by up to 10% and reduces CPU load by 4%. Other notable improvements include 21% faster app launches and 10% less power consumption during video playback. Gaming is also significantly smoother, with a 15% frame rate increase and a 9% improvement in touch response time.
Eco-System Integration and Security: With this release, Xiaomi is taking a major step toward bridging the gap between different ecosystems. Apple users can now seamlessly run Android apps (up to three mobile app windows) on macOS, unlock their Xiaomi phones with Touch ID, share files, and sync notifications. Privacy and security are also enhanced thanks to two-factor authentication and advanced data protection. One of the most notable features is the ability to locate lost devices even when they’re turned off.
