Xiaomi has quietly begun testing its new Android 15-based operating system, HyperOS 3, and more than a dozen devices are already running these early builds. However, this development comes with a critical piece of news. For many models on the list, HyperOS 3 appears to be their last major software upgrade.
First Devices Tested with HyperOS 3 Revealed
Internal Mi Community test logs have revealed which popular models are currently testing HyperOS 3 builds. For most of these models, the new operating system will bring significant improvements, but it will also be a farewell:

- Redmi Note 13 5G series (Global, Europe, Turkey, China)
- POCO F5 Pro / Redmi K60 (Global and China)
- Xiaomi 13 Lite / Civi 2 (Europe)
- Xiaomi MIX FOLD 2
- Xiaomi 12T Pro / Redmi K50 Ultra
- Xiaomi 12 Pro / 12S Ultra / 12
- Redmi K60 Pro
- Xiaomi Civi 3
- Redmi Note 12T Pro
- Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro
The Redmi Note 13 5G is reportedly the closest device on the list to general availability, running OS 3.0.0.2.VNQMIXM, and has almost reached a stable state.
According to XiaomiTime analysts’ expectations, HyperOS 3 will be the last major feature update for most of the devices on the list. This marks a significant milestone in software support for these phones, which are still in their hardware lifecycle.
What to expect for these devices after HyperOS 3:
- Only security updates can continue.
- HyperOS 3.1 will not be released.
- There will be no Android 16 upgrade.
- New feature additions will cease.
If a device is not currently on this test list, its chances of receiving HyperOS 3 are considered very low.
The new operating system offers significant improvements, such as smoother animations and improved memory management. However, for many users, this update will be more than just a version upgrade; it will be the final chapter in their device’s software support journey.
