Xiaomi has taken an important step in Europe in line with its global expansion plans in the electric car market. The company’s high-performance electric sedan model SU7 Ultra has been legally registered in Europe and tested on public roads for the first time. The test vehicle’s license plate is recorded as “M SU7088E”. The letter “M” on the license plate symbolizes Munich, while also symbolizing Xiaomi’s “Mi” brand and SU7 model.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra officially registered in Germany
Xiaomi Group Partner and President Lu Weibing, who is also responsible for the smartphone division and brand management, is currently on a business trip across Europe for market research.

Weibing announced on Weibo on July 5 that he took a test drive of the SU7 Ultra registered in Munich. This drive represents the first official use of the SU7 on public roads in Europe.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is positioned in the medium-large segment with dimensions such as 4,997 mm length, 1,963 mm width and 1,455 mm height. The 3,000 mm wheelbase puts the vehicle in the same class as full-size luxury sedans. The vehicle, which weighs approximately 2,205 kilograms in track-focused equipment, has an aerodynamic structure that stands out in its class with an air drag coefficient of 0.195.
The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 350 km/h. Equipped with carbon ceramic brakes, the model has a chassis calibrated with tests conducted on challenging tracks such as the Nürburgring.
Powered by a 93.7 kWh CATL Qilin II battery, SU7 Ultra works on an 897-volt electrical architecture. According to the CLTC standard, its range reaches up to 630 kilometers.
On June 26, Xiaomi announced that its SU7 Ultra prototype became the third fastest car in track history with a lap time of 6 minutes and 22.091 seconds on the Nürburgring Nordschleife track.
The production version, with Xiaomi’s track-focused option package called the “Track Professional Package,” completed the same track in 7:04.957. This was announced as the fastest lap time recorded by a production electric sedan at the time of the test.
The SU7 Ultra Nürburgring Limited Track Edition, based on the prototype, was limited to just 100 units. The vehicle is priced at 814,900 yuan (approximately $113,500). This special version includes factory-fit performance components such as a fixed rear wing, carbon fiber aerodynamic extensions, racing seats, and a partial safety cage.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said in a recent statement that the company plans to enter the overseas automotive market in 2027. The SU7 Ultra test vehicle, registered in Europe, is used for technical validation purposes as part of this strategy. The vehicle is not included in any customer deliveries and is being evaluated independently of the series production vehicles.
