The Chinese tech giant continues to strengthen its position in the smartwatch market. The Xiaomi Watch S5, featuring a robust build and advanced functionalities, is set to hit the shelves later this month.
Xiaomi Watch S5: Design and Build Quality
The new device features a unibody 316L stainless steel chassis. This premium material offers high corrosion resistance, making the watch significantly more durable against the wear and tear of daily use.
Departing from the modular, removable parts seen in previous models, Xiaomi has opted for a fixed structure in this iteration. This design choice has allowed for noticeably slimmer bezels, providing a more refined and comfortable user experience.

Diverse Bezel and Strap Options
The company offers various bezel designs, including Midnight Blue and Forged Carbon. The blue model features ceramic details and 24 sculpted facets for a sophisticated look, while the forged carbon version offers a sportier feel through its layered manufacturing process. Additionally, three different versions with stainless steel bezels are available.
The black and silver versions come with fluororubber straps. Specifically, the silver eSIM model caters to fans of classic style with a grey genuine leather strap. The crown features an intricate interlocking ring texture, and the display elegantly showcases traditional analog dial elements such as moon phases and Roman numerals.
Advanced Sensors and Massive Battery Life
The development team has completely overhauled the sensors to ensure more precise health tracking. Furthermore, the smartwatch now serves as a hub to directly control smart home appliances and connected cars. Alongside these powerful features, the device promises a staggering battery life of up to 21 days on a single charge.
Pricing and Launch Expectations
Starting prices in the Chinese market are expected to align closely with previous models. According to leaks, the standard Bluetooth version will retail for 999 yuan, while the eSIM model is expected to be priced around 1,199 yuan. While the global launch date is not yet confirmed, Xiaomi plans to bring this next-generation watch to international markets in the coming months.
